It is important to go to a dark or dimly lit location, take a break from whatever activity you were doing previously, and try relaxing or even taking a nap. 

Tip No. 2: Use Warm or Cold Compressions

If the pain you are feeling from the migraine is unbearable, you can try using an icepack to numb the throbbing pain. A hot pack can relax the tension while taking a warm bath or shower can also have a similar effect. Try turning the temperature up a little bit to produce steam that can also double as a muscle relaxant for the entire body. 

Tip No. 3: Drink Caffeine

Now don't go wild and slurp down a double shot cappuccino, because the after-effects will result in an even greater headache. However, drinking something like warm tea can greatly reduce pain. Drinking tea in addition to Tylenol or a different type of acetaminophen can also serve to enhance and stimulate pain relief. 

Tip No. 4: Get Your Rest

It is extremely important to get quality sleep when dealing with a migraine. Failing to do so can exacerbate the conditions and make it more difficult to alleviate the pain from the migraine. By creating a sleep schedule and developing regular sleeping hours, you can reduce the chances of having to deal with migraines. Not having a regular sleep schedule puts stress on your body. As your body works hard to complete activities that should be done during a sleep cycle.

Having poor posture while you sleep can affect your mental state. This also goes to how you live your daily life when you are awake and doing your regular activities.
