Swedish Massage
Is a type of therapy that uses light to medium massage strokes. This type of massage increases blood flow and produces general body relaxation.
Deep Tissue Massage
This massage technique is performed, using pressure points, elongation of the muscles, manipulation of the tissue and Deeper pressure. This type of massage can be performed throughout the patient's body or in a specific region where the patient has an issue on the deeper muscles caused usually by overuse of the muscle or injury.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
This massage technique is unique. When performing this massage, we use long slow strokes usually working on one part of the body at a time. This type of massage is recommended for people recovering from Surgery, Cancer or Post Cancer Patients, as well as people who are prone to swelling and Edema. When working with this massage technique for the best results several sessions are recommended. Restoring the Lymphatic flow takes time.
Pre-Natal Massage
This massage is for the mom to be. During this massage we work with the mom to address the changes in her body. We work in detail on the Lumbar region, Glut and Hip areas. We help the mom by stretching the hips and increasing blood flow and reducing tension. We work with moms who have prenatal carpal tunnel. If needed during this time we can include Lymphatic drainage massage as well as Cold stone therapy to help with swelling in the feet. Often when getting a massage, the baby moves because of positive exchange of hormones.
Post-Natal Massage
Three reasons to get a massage after having a baby.
- Women produce milk, and sometimes women struggle with blocked docks. We help and massage your breast tissue to help you get the duct cleared. This helps to prevent mastitis in the breast tissue. This work is performed with the patient permission only
- When a woman/caregiver carries the baby in one arm and performs work with the other and lean over the baby, the woman usually develops tension on one side of the back/shoulder region. (Mommy Syndrome).
- When a woman's belly expands and grows it takes over 9 months for the organs to move and muscles to move and expand for the uterus to grow. It takes just as long to go back, however by getting a belly massage the therapist helps to facilitate faster recovery.
